David in the Psalms says to God “investigate my heart…Search me God…see what’s inside my soul…and make me clean”. It’s a bit like allowing our hearts to be put under God’s divine “scanner”, inviting him to show us if there is anything he needs to change, heal or tweak about our hearts and lives.
