I just went to a conference in Temecula with her speaking in it! She shared almost exactly what is here. I am so excited to see her again at Revolve this year!

...not sure how I ended up with this in my email, but for what it's worth, here's my comment:
The first instrument God gave each one of us is our voice. The second is as much a gift and as important as the first--our bodies, for their incredible percussive playing. When the guitarist cancels at the last minute, it's an opportunity to celebrate these first gifts from our Creator. Blessings!

Vicky, what would you do in if you were about to lead a prayer group (20 adults + 15 children - we are a family prayer group) without guitar. My only guitarist cancelled at the last minute.....

Vicky, Your advice is helping me so much! Thank you. With the click track, is it just you and your drummer that uses it? Our church is still shy or uncomfortable with "vibrant worship". Some are ready to clap their hands , or seem to want to be less inhibited. How do I lead them into being comfortable to respond (and enjoy) the presence of Christ? Thanks, Suzanne

I would add... Have something to write about. Work out what it is you want to express first. Is your song about Grace? Salvation? Redemption? Recommitment? or a 'Revelation 4' syle of proclamation. Once you know your theme, stick to it.

Also... keep your pronouns consistent. Switching between 'God' and then 'You' and then 'He' makes for confused lyrics.
